HAMPSTEAD HOUSE
Hampstead,
London
Beechworth is a newly built luxury residence in Hampstead, designed by William Paul Architecture and finished with whole-house bespoke joinery by Dust & Zeal — a first commission together, and one I was glad to be part of.
We spent a full day on site, working through the rooms as the light moved around the house. The building rewards that approach: pale textured brick, double-height volumes and full-height glazing that pulls light through from every angle. The kitchen sits at the heart of the plan — open to the garden, reeded oak towers framing a stone splashback, an island that anchors the room without crowding it. The staircase, oak rising through a brick-lined atrium lit from above, was another space that repaid time.
Crowncut European oak with brass detailing throughout. Precise and unhurried — the kind of work that photographs well because it was made well.
A pleasure from start to finish.
